How to Have Great Teeth Edited

by Sophi3, RMunsonNJ, Sarah Eliza, Rainbows&Candy and 29 others

Great teeth can give you a great smile and that extra boost of confidence. It's not difficult to achieve a great set of teeth if you look after them properly.

1Brush your teeth!

Use a soft toothbrush. You should brush 2 to 3 times a day for 2 minutes at a time. Start brushing the back of your bottom teeth, then move on to the front teeth, do the same for your top teeth. Remember to scrub the front of the teeth, the back, and the gums.

  1. 2
Chew gum whenever you can. It makes your mouth produce more saliva, which helps you get rid of plaque on your teeth. It cannot be stressed enough that you select sugar-free gum. Also, make sure you drink lots of water as this extra saliva may cause bad breath.
  2. 3
Floss! Don't bother flossing twice a day, once will do. Flossing stops the build up of plaque around the edges of your teeth. Get a string of floss and place it between two teeth so you still have two long bits of floss to hold in your hands. Pull one end, then pull the other. Repeat with other teeth until the whole mouth has been covered.
  3. 4
Cut down on the amount of sugar you consume. This includes tea, coffee, fruit juices, and concentrated drinks. Sugar will not help your teeth and will make them rot. An occasional burger or chocolate bar is fine, but brush your teeth afterwards! Too much sugar can cause sensitive teeth.
  4. 5
Use mouthwash every morning. It'll help you get fresh breath and will also help get rid of unwanted plaque and other bacteria in your mouth.
  5. 6
Use a good toothpaste. Try different ones to find out which ones work best. Don't be afraid to experiment. Some brands can be expensive though, so be forewarned.
